Furniture designer Gavin Munro is based in Derbyshire, England and has found a way to bypass the energy wasting furiture making methods and jumps straight to growing the furniture in shape!
Gavin’s company, Full Grown, uses specifically designed plastic frames and strategic grafting to mild young willow (Salix spp.), oak (Quercus robur), ash (Fraxinus excelsior) and sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus) trees into chairs, tables, mirror frames or lamps. The end result of the process is a piece of furniture, made from a single and continuous piece of wood. The pieces have no joints or need for assembly.
